Art in the Atrium

Founded in 1991, Art in the Atrium, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer, arts organization whose mission is preserve the legacy of African-American contributions to American art, as well as to showcase the works of both historical and contemporary African American artists through gallery exhibitions.  The organization also seeks to continue to expand its educational outreach programs to public schools through artists-in-residence programs and other enrichment activities.  Call (954) 753-1117 for current exhibitions and program events.

 Founded in 1982, the mission The Growing Stage remains to nurture the development of the performing arts through education, and to create, produce, and perform works that engage the entire family. The Growing Stage seeks to be a model of excellence in theatre for young audiences and strives to develop new initiatives through the arts, on both the stage and in the classroom. The hallmark of the organization is its Main Stage season, which consists of five productions, carefully chosen on the basis of audience appeal and their educational value. Presentations have included such productions as The Broadway musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, and  A Midnight Cry, a moving historical drama based on the true story of a slave's journey through the Underground Railroad. Built in 1970, the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum is a 312-seat proscenium theatre that provides acclaimed productions of musicals (and music showcases), dramas, comedies, mysteries and one-actor performances. Log onto the theater's website for current shows and box office information.

The Unity Gospel Choir of the County College of Morris is one of several clubs and organizations at the college that promotes cultural diversity and community spirit. These organizations form a nucleus of co-curricular activity where leadership and community-building skills are learned and refined in and out of classroom settings.

The Morris County Teen Arts is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts. Serving students and teachers in both public and private schools since 1969, the program encompasses activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film and video, photography, creative writing and the visual arts.
