Crossroads Theatre Company

Crossroads Theatre Company, the recipient of the 1999 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theater in America, is the nation's premier African American theater. Crossroads' primary effort is its four-play mainstage season, where the many timbres of the African American experience are given voice in full productions. Since 1978, Crossroads has produced over 100 works, many of which were premiere productions by the world's leading African and African American artists. Crossroads opened its first Broadway production in April 1999: IT AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT THE BLUES by Charles Bevel, Lita Gaithers, Randal Myler, Ron Taylor and Dan Wheetman. Today, Crossroads continues its mission of providing dynamic and creative performances for all audiences. Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum
The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum houses more than 60,000 works of art from various cultures dating from the 16th century to today. This Rutgers University showcase is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of the campus and is the third largest University museum in the country. The permanent collection includes highly regarded works by African American artists, such as "The Good Shepherd," painted in 1902-1903 by Henry Ossawa Tanner; "Three Girls," by Hughie Lee-Smith; and "The Sun Flower Quiltinh Bee at Arles," by Faith Ringgold.

The Middlesex County Teen Arts
The Middlesex County Teen Arts is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts. Serving students and teachers in both public and private schools since 1969, the program encompasses activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film and video, photography, creative writing and the visual arts.
